Upcoming July Food Swap!

Hello, all!  July is here, summer seems to be in full swing, and we have exciting things to tell you about!

We’ve got a swap coming up.  It will be held on Sunday, July 21 at 7:00pm at Fuel + (a cafe on 471 Church Street).  A big thank you to the owners of Fuel+, Chester and Gary, who are allowing us to use their space.  Please check Fuel+ out — it’s a lovely cafe, and a great place to grab a protein smoothie, an espresso made with beans roasted here in Toronto or baked goods with vegan and gluten-free options (how inclusive!).

This is our first time advertising on a larger scale — if you’re here and wondering what this food swappin’ business is all about, welcome!  In case you’re still fuzzy on details, here’s how it works: make a bunch of food.  Package it up into servings.  Bring your servings to the food swap, and swap them around with other people for their servings.  Take all your new servings home and enjoy!  It’s like a potluck, except you take everything home.  The reason food swapping is such a great thing is because it’s easier to make one batch of soup than five batches of different kinds of soup (we’re just using soup as an example here, folks — do not feel limited in any way!  Make and bring whatever you’d like).  Not only that, you get to meet some stellar new people and get some super new recipe ideas.

Speaking of recipe ideas, we collect all the recipes at the swaps and post them online here within about a week after each swap.  That way, you can re-create your favourite collected dishes whenever you want!  Some past hits have included gluten-free sweet potato gnocchi, dark chocolate & mint chocolate faux truffles, and a delicious and addicting quinoa & beet salad.

For more specific guidelines, check out our How To Participate page.  If you’ve got any questions, send ’em over to divideandsavour@gmail.com.

Thanks again for checking us out — we look forward to seeing you at our next swap!
